My Disability

I have an Relapsing Remitting Multiple Sclerosis, MS. The physical symptoms, walking, talking, facial droop and strength come and go. The multiple lesions(sclerosis) in my brain mean I live with fatigue. When I’m tired my the right side of my face droops and I have no strength or balance. MS causes my corpus callosum to thin, resulting in a few autistic like symptoms, anxiety, social overload, and being dreadfully forthright. The spelling and grammar mistakes are just me.

About Me

I was born in the 60s, became disabled in 2004, and stopped looking for work in January 2025. My two main jobs were teaching Art History and working as an Expressive Arts Therapist.

Working as an Expressive Arts Therapist, wearing a hat I created with a client.

Today, my hair is white and short. Most people with MS have a second autoimmune disorder, mine is alopecia. My hair all fell out and grew back white. I like it. Heck, it’s hair.

I’m married to Stan. He builds amazing furniture and plays guitar. Stan and I got together a year after my diagnosis, in 2004. He’s either brave or insane for choosing a wife who has a disability.

That’s the introduction. If you have questions put them in the comments. I will respond.

Thanks for reading!
